We are excited to officially open the application for our 2021-2022 USA Lacrosse Texas Chapter Junior Board Program.
Applications Open Monday, 10/11 through Monday, 10/18.
This program, which was introduced last year, aims to build both leadership and community service experience within our Texas lacrosse community. Because of last year’s strong interest, we have decided to expand the program to include middle school students in 7th and 8th grades with the goal of providing volunteer opportunities to a broader group and fostering leadership qualities at a younger age.
The Junior Board offers high school members service hours for their time training and then working alongside USA Lacrosse and local program leadership as volunteers at various lacrosse and community events. The Chapter will sponsor high school Junior Board members’ certified USA Lacrosse Official and/or Junior Coaching Certification introductory course fees available to ages 14+. The ability of students to earn income as coaches or officials upon completing these courses serves as an added bonus to Junior Board members.
Our middle school Junior Board members will have the opportunity to volunteer at both lacrosse events as well as broader community events.
We ask that our Junior Board members consider a donation to the chapter for the purpose of growing the sport of lacrosse in the form of equipment grants, new player clinics, etc. across the state. Additionally, we ask that our Junior Board members use their initiative and creativity to bring student-led opportunities that our chapter can support to their communities in the form of service events, drives, or lacrosse activities. We look forward to working with any Junior Board member wishing to create a positive impact to develop their student-led activities anywhere across the state.
On behalf of our Texas Chapter, we appreciate your encouragement for middle and high school students in your programs to apply for the Junior Board. Attached please find the Junior Board application, which we will also post today on social media and encourage you to repost/share.
A link to order our ’21-’22 Adrenaline limited edition apparel will be sent to Junior Board members with our welcome letter after the application process. We are also so grateful for your consideration of any additional donations to continue to grow the sport of lacrosse – if you wish to do so independently from an application for the program, please reply directly to this email or on any of our social media accounts for more information.
Stay tuned for more exciting news and announcements from your USA Lacrosse TX Chapter!
With Many Thanks,
